Over the past thirteen years I have been photographing the people of Afghanistan. I witnessed a generation that has grown up behind the barrel of a gun, a generation traumatized by war. Afghanistan is hauntingly seductive. A savage country of rugged mountains, deserts, drugs and guns. It truly is the final frontier of madness and beauty. A wilderness at the crossroads of East and West, it feels suspended in a time long ago. The scars of battle mirror the wounds of humanity all too well here. My photographs reflect a nation of great dignity and endurance. A people whose daily life struggle is to survive tomorrow!
