REHAB Post Conflict Trauma
War and conflict has been our testimony to man progress, in agonizing leaps and bounds. In its shadow are left, habitually, the victims, the dead and the damage. As technology has flourished we have created weapons of mass destruction whose downstream legacies are only now being determined. From my baptism as a photojournalist during the Vietnam War the first and last to be uncensored, the first war to be on television, in changing public opinion and to be lost to a superpower, the U.S.A. The perpetrators and the population all became victims. Four million deaths, quadruple that in wounded and maimed, including myself and who knows how many suicides? Through rehabilitation there has been a recovery in both places, a continuous enquiry into the ability to come around to live again and make a difference to hopefully 1% to see the light of peace and the plight of mankind.
