A Photojournalistic Collective with a Degree of Difference

°SOUTH is a new collective of Australian photographers based throughout the Asia Pacific region.
All of them working independently, all of them owning their archive of twenty years or more. All of them award winning. All of them photojournalists and all passionate about what they do.

Years of working freelance in different locations around the globe has found this group sometimes working in competition with each other and it is during these times that bonds are formed and colleagues become life-long friends.

The decision to form °SOUTH came from an ‘ideal’, that as photographers who have spent their working careers recording what they see in a fair, truthful and informative way – their stories of struggle, hope, aspirations and traditions are about ‘gathering evidence’ and hopefully ‘making a difference’. Creating images that will influence public opinion and go on to have historical significance.

°SOUTH is an eclectic and interesting group and each person has their own subject that has become their passion.
